The immune system

T lymphocytes help coordinate the immune response, while B lymphocytes produce specific antibodies that bind to antigens and help destroy them.
The immune system also has an immune memory, which allows it to quickly recognize and respond to antigens it has seen before. This is what allows vaccines to be effective, as they stimulate the immune system to produce antibodies and specific cells against a specific antigen, without causing the disease.
